For some or other reason
Discussing the colors is all right
Until you come to discussing
The colors of black and white.
They are always the opposites
Facing each other across a color wheel
But, their spirits have a lot in common
Let's see what they will reveal
As black ebony and white ivory color,
They often complement each other
A white soft blanket of snow
Hugs the black Earth below
Covering sleepy trees
Protecting them from night freeze
A white sugar adds that special sweetness
To a cup of black coffee achieving completeness
Despite the belief that light is stronger
I know the opposite to be true
When concentrated in a black hole
It easily swallows the light and all
Yet, the vast blackness of space in its final grace
Yields to a whiteness of light
Creator of life, the bringer of pure delight
Why pandas and zebras are so cute?
Because to the best of its ability
Nature painted their furs black and white
Achieving a colorful sensibility
I recognize that black and white
Sometimes is about a color of skin
Fortunately, I am skin color blind
I do not care what constitute the mankind.
Black and white races
May have come to Earth from different stars
That fact is shrouded in mystery
But, nevertheless, we are here together
And share the same history
Black and white in a social mosaic of modern society
Is no longer a reason for anxiety
Like black and white squares on a chess board
Joined forever in the intricate play
Always separate, always together
And never become gray
