A sound of thousands clapping hands
A buzzing of bees, but so intense
My dog didn't hear it, it was in my brain
It rushed in my ears, it pulsed in my veins
We were in a forest, in far away land
Who followed my path, would understand
I did have a reason to be in that place
Whatever was coming I had to embrace
I saw in a distance, I saw from afar
An animal running, a jaguar!
He moved as lightning, as sunlight flash
And bounced my dog in a boulder dash
Without delay, without pause
A boy he became and came very close
In his right hand he was holding a mask
Very strange, very grotesque
Just black rectangle, two holes for the eyes
Big hole for the mouth - a magic device!
I put it on, the world has changed
I was sitting now on a wooden bench
Strange people were sitting from across the table
The whole place looked like an old Amish stable
Strange language they spoke, it sounded Flemish
It may have been Dutch, or probably Danish.
I looked through the window onto a pier
Where my wife was standing in a cloth threadbare
Her hair was covered with Brussels lace
A jaguar fur has grown on her face...
I woke up frazzled, my ears were sore
A boy jaguar and the days of yore ?!
My weird dream I try to ignore
And what is that black thing on a floor?
